Tap the tile you would discard.
| Set | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Chow | Run of 3 in one suit (only from the player on your left, or your own draw) | 3-4-5 of Bamboo |
| Pung | Three identical tiles - claimable from anyone's discard | Three Red Dragons |
| Kong | Four identical tiles - declare it, draw a replacement, worth more | Four 8 of Dots |
| Pair (the eyes) | Two identical tiles - every standard hand needs exactly one | Two East Winds |
| Winning hand | 4 sets + 1 pair = 14 tiles (with a kong counting as a set, hand held at 13 + draws) | - |
โMahjongโ is a family of games. This trainer teaches the shared core; here's how the big three differ so you can sit down at any table.
The classic core. 144 tiles, chow/pung/kong, minimum fan (points) to win in stricter houses. Fast, social, the best default to learn first.
The strategic one. 136 tiles (no flowers/seasons), furiten rule, dora bonus tiles, and the riichi declaration - a 1,000-point bet that you're one tile from winning. Deepest defensive play.
The card game. 152 tiles including jokers, played to a yearly card of set hands published by the National Mah Jongg League. No free-form hands - you build toward a printed pattern.
Install Mahjong Trainer on your phone and it opens like a native app - full screen, on your home screen, ready between games.
